These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and SitePlot Media ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") concerning your access to and use of the Build A Local website (buildalocal.com) and the purchase and use of our products and services.
By accessing our website, purchasing our products, or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the website or purchase our products.

Build A Local offers WordPress plugins, themes, and related services for building local newsletter platforms. Our offerings include:
- Plugin Only ($99): City Newsletter WordPress plugin and matching theme
- Plugin + Install ($199): Plugin, theme, and professional installation service
- Hands-Free ($499): Complete done-for-you setup including content configuration and marketing setup
License Grant
Upon purchase, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased product(s) on a single WordPress installation. You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, or sublicense the products
- Use the products on multiple websites without additional licenses
- Modify the products for redistribution
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels
- Use the products to create derivative products for sale
Updates and Support
Your purchase includes:
- Lifetime updates to the purchased products
- Email support for product-related issues
- Access to documentation and tutorials
Payment Terms
Pricing
All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD) and are subject to change without notice. Prices at the time of purchase will be honored for that transaction.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service. We do not store your complete credit card information on our servers.
Taxes
Prices do not include applicable taxes. You are responsible for any sales tax, VAT, or other taxes applicable in your jurisdiction.
Refund Policy
Plugin Only Package
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for the Plugin Only package. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase. To request a refund, contact us at hello@buildalocal.com.
Installation and Hands-Free Packages
For packages that include installation or setup services:
- Refunds are available before work begins
- Once installation or setup work has commenced, refunds are not available
- If we are unable to complete the agreed-upon services, we will provide a proportional refund
Refund Exclusions
Refunds will not be provided for:
- Change of mind after installation services have begun
- Incompatibility with third-party plugins or themes not specified in our requirements
- Issues caused by modifications you made to the products
- Failure to provide necessary access or information for installation services
User Responsibilities
System Requirements
You are responsible for ensuring your hosting environment meets the minimum requirements:
- WordPress 6.0 or higher
- PHP 7.4 or higher
- MySQL 5.7 or higher
- SSL certificate (HTTPS)
Third-Party Services
Our products integrate with third-party services. You are responsible for:
- Obtaining and maintaining API keys (OpenAI, email providers, etc.)
- Complying with the terms of service of these third-party providers
- Paying any fees associated with third-party services
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for:
- All content created, published, or distributed through the products
- Ensuring your content complies with applicable laws and regulations
- Obtaining necessary rights and permissions for any content you publish
- Reviewing AI-generated content before publication
Intellectual Property
Our Intellectual Property
The products, including all code, designs, graphics, documentation, and other materials, are owned by SitePlot Media and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create using our products. By using our products, you do not transfer any intellectual property rights to us.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- OUR PRODUCTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED
- WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT
- WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIRD-PARTY SERVICE OUTAGES OR CHANGES
- WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOSSES RESULTING FROM AI-GENERATED CONTENT
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless SitePlot Media, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from:
- Your use of our products
- Content you create or publish
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your license and access to our products at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe:
- Violates these Terms
- Is harmful to other users, us, or third parties
- Involves fraudulent or illegal activity
Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our products after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
Dispute Resolution

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SitePlot Media regarding the use of our products and services.
